Middle Fork Feather River Raft Float Trips
Sit back relax, and let’s float down the upper section of the Middle Fork Feather River in comfort and style. Access more water, tighter presentations as we float down the river from Clio to Graeagle or depending on how much water we have in the river, we often float all the way down the middle section of the river to Sloat.
The Middle Fork Feather River is not an easy place to run a full-size oar raft. The river is rocky, narrow, shallow, and challenging to “float”. Which is why you don’t hear about, or see others doing it. This is exactly why I started using packrafts to float the Middle Fork of the Feather River!
Through research, determination, and the right raft, Matt has perfected the art of navigating the skinnier waters in his NRS Slipstream 96 and Aire Puma 3-person raft. The Slipstream and Puma are shallow water masters that can handle the rough stuff too. Matt has been floating these sections for years and knows where the fish are in the high water months!
When the flows and river are up, this is the best way to fish the Middle Fork Feather River. You will be hard-pressed to find another guide who floats the river and even more hard-pressed to find another guide who knows these floats better than Matt. These trips took years to plan, involving experimentation and fine-tuning of equipment. Fishing from a raft during our high-water season is truly a unique experience that should not be missed!
